Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in via a social provider (Google, Facebook), your name. When you set up an Auto-Book monitoring request, we may collect additional information required to book your appointment, such as your name, date of birth, driver's license number, and phone number.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to provide the service: monitoring DMV appointments, sending alerts, and booking appointments on your behalf. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Security

Sensitive fields (driver's license number, date of birth, SSN digits) are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM. Payments are processed by Stripe and we never store your credit card information. All connections use HTTPS.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate BookDMV:

  • Stripe - payment processing
  • Amazon SES - email delivery
  • Twilio - SMS notifications
  • Mapbox - map display

Each service processes only the minimum data necessary to perform its function.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Data Retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal information (name, phone number, date of birth, driver's license number, SSN digits) is permanently erased. Your email address is retained to link past bookings and payments for administrative purposes. If you wish to reinstate a deleted account, please contact support. Monitoring and booking records are retained indefinitely for support and dispute resolution purposes. These records do not contain sensitive personal data such as dates of birth, SSN digits, or phone numbers.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.

California Residents

We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising or marketing purposes. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to request access to, deletion of, or correction of their personal data. To exercise these rights, please visit our contact page.

Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.
